Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) invites you to join our QKT networking internship in Laurel, MD. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to design, build, and evaluate complex networks supporting national security and civilian missions.

You'll gain hands-on experience in networking, software development, and system integration, with opportunities for hardware-in-the-loop testing in lab and field environments. U.S.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical degree.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a team and project manager, including technical writing and presentations.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a team and independently when needed.
• Interest in networking technologies, software development, and/or communication systems.
• Willingness to work hands-on in a lab and in the field for tests/evaluations.
• GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Ability to obtain Interim Top Secret clearance by start date and Top Secret clearance eventually; US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop networking solutions for secure communications.
• Design, develop, and test software for user interfaces, protocols, and tools.
• Develop wired and wireless IP networking designs and architectures.
• Evaluate operational networks via experiments, lab tests, field tests, and data analysis.
