Job summary

Brookfield is offering a year-round paid internship at Brookfield Place New York (225 Liberty Street, 8th Floor) beginning June 2027. The program provides full-time work June–August 2027 and part-time 16 hours/week August 2027–May 2028, with mentorship and exposure to accounting functions within real estate and alternative investments.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in accounting, aiming for CPA hours, with strong MS Office skills and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Pursuing accounting degree; CPA track to complete 150 semester hours preferred.
• Completion of at least one accounting course is preferred.
• Prior accounting internship or related experience is preferred.

This is a year-round paid internship beginning in June 2027.

• Full-time: 40 hours per week from June 2027 through August 2027
• Part-time: 16 hours per week from August 2027 through May 2028
• Participate in mentorship opportunities, coaching, and career guidance
• Gain exposure to a corporate work environment through accounting-related functions
• Participate in ongoing presentations, training, and professional development opportunities
• Gain experience in real estate and alternative investments accounting and/or finance functions

Qualifications & Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution, preferably in the second or third year of study
• Pursuing a degree in Accounting and on track to complete the 150 semester hours required for CPA designation
• Completion of at least one accounting course is preferred
• Prior accounting internship or related experience is preferred
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Service-oriented and collaborative, with a strong work ethic
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Organized, self-motivated, and able to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Mature, tactful, and professional in approach and presentation
• Flexible and able to work from the office as required
• Able to commit to the full 12-month internship term

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $25 USD

Our compensation structure is comprised of a base salary and a short-term incentive program (cash bonus). Cash compensation tends to vary based on geography to account for local market conditions and is set to be market competitive. Compensation decisions are based on a number of factors including relative experience, overall years of experience, industry experience, education and designations.
