Responsibilities

• Interact with customers in person, by phone, and via email.
• Learn to identify products and applications.
• Develop knowledge of vendor lines and supplier relationships.
• Assist with receiving, inspecting, and stocking incoming freight.
• Pull, stage, package, and ship customer orders.
• Perform cycle counts and assist inventory management.
• Support warehouse operations and maintain an organized work environment.
• Learn product terminology, part numbers, and industry applications.
• Assist branch personnel with daily operational activities as needed.

Position Summary

With 100 locations across 21 states, we remain committed to providing top tier manufacturer products, technical knowledge, and reliable local inventory to support our customers' success. Purvis Industries is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Interns to join our team at various branch locations. This internship provides hands on exposure to multiple areas of industrial distribution operations, including customer service, inventory management, warehouse operations, product knowledge, and sales support. Interns will gain valuable industry experience while developing professional skills and learning the fundamentals of industrial distribution.

Job Responsibilities

• Interact with customers in person, by phone, and through email communications.
• Learn to accurately identify products and applications.
• Develop knowledge of vendor product lines and supplier relationships.
• Assist with receiving, inspecting, and stocking incoming freight.
• Pull, stage, package, and ship customer orders.

• Maintain a professional image while representing Purvis Industries.
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Currently pursuing a degree from an accredited two year or four year college or university, preferred.
• Previous experience in plant maintenance, manufacturing, warehouse operations, or a related field is beneficial.
• Mechanical aptitude preferred.
