Job summary

Hill’s Pet Nutrition is seeking an Engineering Intern to join Global Supply Chain. You will lead a hands-on project from planning to completion and collaborate with cross-functional teams across our facility.

You will map manufacturing workflows, apply CAD tools, and present results to senior leadership at the end of the program. Eligible students must relocate for June–August and be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or related fields.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Willing to relocate for the Summer Program (June–August).
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Ability to work off-shift hours.

Responsibilities

About the Role

As an Engineering Intern at Hill’s Pet Nutrition, you will play a key role in our Global Supply Chain operations. You will be responsible for leading a hands‑on project from start to finish, with guidance from our industry experts. You will also get the chance to collaborate with diverse teams across our facility and network with your peers and senior leadership.

What You Will Be Doing

• Project Leadership: You will own a specific engineering project, taking it from the initial planning phase all the way through to completion.
• Process Mapping: You will learn and map out exactly how we produce our dry pet food, helping us visualize our workflows.
• Team Collaboration: You will work alongside different departments to gather insights, solve problems, and keep your project moving forward.
• Presenting Results: At the end of your internship, you will present your findings, project takeaways, and any suggested improvements to our leadership team.

What You Bring

• Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in fields like Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, or Systems Engineering, as well as Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Analytics.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive).
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is preferred.
• Requirements: A GPA of 3.0 or higher, the ability to work off‑shift hours, and comfort working in a manufacturing environment.
• Commitment: Must be willing to relocate for the Summer Program (June–August) and authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range $ - $ USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit‑sharing, and long‑term incentives for Executive‑level roles.

Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
