Location

Concord, CA office – Internship position.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of technical tasks, both routine and moderately complex, to gain familiarity with programs, staff, and operating procedures.
• Collaborate under the direction of engineers to support Probabilistic Risk Analysis development and application.
• Execute developmental assignments applying standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria under close supervision.
• Apply prescribed methods to complete limited and specific portions of assignments, adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow operations through related detailed steps or processes.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or related engineering fields.
• At least two years of undergraduate schooling completed.
• Self‑starter with problem‑solving and reasoning skills.
• Effective written and oral communication skills to produce reports, business correspondence, presentations, and procedural manuals, and to respond to questions from managers, clients, and the public.
• Passion for advancing the scientific foundation of safety and resilience and for exceeding client expectations.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: $20,000 – $30,000 USD. Compensation may vary based on responsibilities, education, experience, skills, location, and internal equity. The internship includes a competitive total rewards package, including a retirement plan, healthcare coverage, and additional benefits as may apply.
