Swift Transportation in Chicago, IL seeks a capable operations leader to manage a fleet of 10+ drivers, coordinating schedules, lanes, and performance to optimize profitability and service quality.

You will coach drivers, ensure safety, handle payroll accuracy, and collaborate across departments to meet revenue targets while advancing team development and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in transportation industry preferred.
• Must be able to lead others.
• Must possess exceptional communication skills.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Must be able to work in high pressure situations in a fast paced environment.
• Must be proficient in MS Office.
• Bachelor's in Business or related field or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a fleet of 10+ drivers and manage driver availability to maximize productivity.
• Routinely review P/L for assigned area and maximize profitability.
• Develop high performing drivers through daily interactions, coaching and positive reinforcement.
• Meet drive home time expectations by actively managing expectations and keeping commitments.
• Maximize P/L for all assigned tractors and trailers.
• Assign drivers to lanes that best serve both the company and the driver.
• Ensure drivers are treated with respect and workload is equitably distributed.
• Build and nurture long-lasting relationships with drivers.
• Proactively manage safety performance to achieve insurance and claims cost as a percentage of revenue targets.
• Ensure payroll accuracy for assigned drivers.
• Perform driver reviews as scheduled by Driver Retention.
• Assist others in achieving the organization's objectives.

Schedule: Wednesday- Saturday 10am-10pm

Compensation: $24-27 depending on expereince and qualifications

Job Responsibilities: What you will do
