Job summary

ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. seeks an experienced logistics specialist to quote intermodal freight, optimize inland routing, and secure cost-effective movements.

You will negotiate trucker rates, maintain routes in IQ Ship, and handle rail billing while updating costs with the team. Required is a High School Diploma with a plus for a bachelor’s degree and about 3 years in logistics/operational roles within container shipping.

Job description

Main Purpose of the Role: To provide quotes and routes for inland container movements; secure rates; facilitate inland movement of containers via Rail, Truck, Barge; setting up invoices in SAP, transmitting rail bills.

Main Tasks:

• Provide accurate quotes/rates for intermodal freight, bids and spot business.
• Support commercial efforts to maximize profitability by finding the most cost effective and efficient routing for new and existing business.
• Recommend changes in routing when alternate routes are preferred.
• Negotiate rates with truckers for spot business and new routes.
• Update ZIMAPS quarterly and for missing costs as needed.
• Maintain routing and route preference order in IQ Ship. Create routes when auto routing is missing, expired, or not logical.
• Update costs in routes when missing.
• Manage changes to specific vendors/routing in day to day as required.
• Execute & manage rail billings, and resolve problems as they arise.

Routing, Rec/TO Maintenance

• Resolve unrouted requisitions within 1 day when B/L is valid, but route does not exist.
• Resolve unrouted requisitions within 2 days when a manifest corrector is required for B/L or booking.
• Resolve manual TO’s so none are over 1 week.

Rail Billing

• Process rail bill requests within 2 hours of receipt

Requirements
