Job summary

ConGlobal Industries LLC is hiring an Intermodal Equipment Operator to move shipping containers within our intermodal yard. You’ll operate hostlers, cranes, top loaders, and side loaders, ensuring safe, efficient handling of containers for on-time freight movement.

The role requires physical work outdoors, willingness to work all shifts including weekends/holidays, and a valid driver’s license with pre-employment screenings. Competitive pay and benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

• Drive hostlers to position containers and chassis within the yard.
• Use top loaders, side loaders, and/or cranes to stack, move, and organize containers.
• Perform Groundman duties during the initial training period, assisting with railroad maintenance activities such as handling tools and materials, clearing debris from tracks, maintaining worksite safety, and supporting experienced crew members.
• Perform equipment inspections before and after use to ensure operational safety.
• Communicate with yard personnel and supervisors to coordinate moves and tasks.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following established protocols and procedures.

Starting Pay:

• Apprentice (No Experience): $20.11/hour
• Journeyman (With Experience): $22.36/hour

Status: Full-Time | Immediate Hire

Schedule: Open availability required, including all shifts, weekends, and holidays.

About the Role:
As an Intermodal Equipment Operator (also known as a Terminal Operator), you’ll play a critical role in the safe and efficient movement of shipping containers within our intermodal yard. You’ll operate specialized equipment—such as hostlers, cranes, top loaders, and side loaders—to load, unload, and relocate containers as part of our daily logistics operations. Your work ensures containers are handled accurately and safely, keeping freight moving on time.

• The Federal Rail Administration sets and enforces safety regulations and standards for railroad operations. If applicable for the position you are applying to, and if you are offered the position, you will have to take and pass a drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in intermodal or rail yard operations.
• Familiarity with container handling equipment such as hostlers, top loaders, or cranes.
• CDL or equipment certifications a plus, but not required.
