Job summary

Seaboard Marine seeks a skilled maintenance tech to perform preventative and corrective work on intermodal containers and related equipment used in national and international shipping. The role requires welding expertise, adherence to IICL guidelines, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities include inspections, repairs, record-keeping in the DST system, and safe operation of forklifts when needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of industry-related experience repairing intermodal equipment (containers, flat racks).
• Advanced Stick welding experience.
• MIG welding experience.
• Ability to read, write and speak basic English.
• Ability to accurately process alpha/numeric information.

Responsibilities

• Follow IICL guidelines to ensure structural integrity of intermodal equipment.
• Perform inspections and repairs on containers and flat racks.
• Maintain inspection/repair records in the DST system or handheld device.
• Use hand and power tools including Stick and MIG welding for repairs.
• Perform welding and structural repairs on doors, floors, roofs and panels.
• Keep a clean, safe work area and adhere to safety policies.
• Be aware of surroundings and coordinate with team during operations.
• Safely operate a forklift (as needed).
• Participate in additional duties as assigned.
