Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related discipline.
  • 1 to 3 years of post-education experience in engineering with traffic design exposure.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Knowledge of DOT advisories and traffic engineering principles.
  • Ability to coordinate with regulators and interpret requirements.
  • Experience with design software such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data from site surveys, GIS data, maps, and reports for project development and construction.
  • Assist with traffic signal design, timing, ITS planning, and signing/pavement marking design.
  • Collaborate with engineers, planners, and DOT authorities on transportation projects.
  • Prepare data visuals, charts, and technical memos to support findings and recommendations.
  • Support safety and efficiency analyses to improve road user experience.
