You will work with clients and leadership on retail programs, space planning, test-fits, fixtures, millwork, material selection, visualization, and presentations to align with brand goals. Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Retail Interiors or Architecture.
• Strong concept-design experience within retail and branded environments.
• Experience with retail store planning, including sales and BOH layouts.
• Proven ability to design and coordinate retail fixtures and custom millwork.
• Proficiency with SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Interface directly with clients throughout the design phase.
• Assist the Design Director and oversee the design team.
• Develop preliminary retail programs and project requirements.
• Develop test-fits, schematic design planning, and program analysis.
• Create and coordinate retail layouts, including BOH spaces and sales areas.
• Design and coordinate fixtures, millwork, wall systems and displays.
• Prepare design scope and budget documentation for fixtures and millwork.
• Support client design presentations and meetings.
• Coordinate design requirements with clients, consultants, and fabricators.
• Review drawings and submittals for design intent compliance.
• Balance creative concepts with technical execution through all phases.
• Support projects through schematic design to construction.
• Conduct periodic site visits during construction.

Interior Design Professional - Hybrid - New York, NY

Elite Sourcing is working with an established architecture and design firm seeking an experienced Interior Design Professional with a strong background in Retail Interiors and Branded Environments for their NY office. This individual will collaborate with clients and design leadership on retail programs, space planning, test-fits, fixture and millwork design, material selection, visualization, and presentation development while ensuring alignment with brand and project goals.

About the Role:

• Interface directly with clients throughout the design phase
• Collaborate with the Design Director and assist in overseeing the design team
• Develop preliminary retail programs and project requirements
• Develop test-fits, schematic design planning, program analysis, and basic code analysis
• Create and coordinate retail store layouts, including sales areas and back-of-house (BOH) spaces
• Design and coordinate retail fixturing, including wall systems, gondolas, vitrines, POS stations, and specialty displays
• Develop custom millwork design, including detailing, specifications, and fabrication intent
• Select, present, and specify furniture, finishes, materials, and accessories
• Prepare and support design scope and budget documentation for fixtures, millwork, and specialty elements
• Organize, prepare, and participate in client design presentations
• Coordinate design requirements with clients, consultants, fabricators, and internal project teams
• Review engineering documents, shop drawings, fixture drawings, and submittals for compliance with design intent
• Balance creative design concepts with technical execution throughout all phases of a project
• Support projects through schematic design, design development, contract documents, and construction
• Conduct periodic project-site visits during construction

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience in Retail Interiors, and/or Architecture
• Strong concept-design experience within retail and branded environments
• Demonstrated experience with retail store planning, including sales areas and BOH layouts
• Proven experience designing and coordinating retail fixtures and custom millwork
• Strong proficiency with SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite
• Ability to create photo-realistic renderings using Enscape and AI-driven visualization software
• Strong understanding of schematic design, design development, and contract documents
• Experience coordinating directly with consultants, fabricators, and other project partners
• Ability to communicate design concepts effectively through drawings, renderings, presentations, and client meetings
• Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced design environment
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a design team
• Strong understanding of design intent and the ability to carry concepts through documentation and fabrication

Pay/Benefits:
