Job Summary

The role involves developing and delivering technical training, ensuring compliance, and supporting supervisors and managers with training needs. Responsibilities include investigating technical issues, reviewing SOPs and equipment, and recommending improvements to operations.

Essential Duties
  • Consult with and assist supervisors with all technical training concerns and conditions.
  • Conduct needs analysis, support the design of training programs, implement programs, and support ROI determination.
  • Develop and perform all initial and compliance‑related technical training for new and current employees.
  • Perform investigations and inspections to manage and improve the technical environment at PNG.
  • Research applicability and viability of SOPs, JPs, and all technical related procedures and processes; recommend changes as needed.
  • Research new or changing technical operations related tools, equipment, and PPE.
  • Analyze technical operations trends and recommend new practices, training, and/or equipment to improve efficiency.
  • Maintain and update training support and/or contractor database, as well as employee training completions.
  • Provide presentations to PNG leadership, employees, and customers; create visual displays as needed.
  • Review and/or develop weekly employee communications addressing technical topics.
  • Research and maintain awareness of industry trends in technical changes for use and implementation at PNG.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of SOPs, gas industry practices, PNG operations practices, and related policies and standards.
  • Proficiency with software applications such as Office Suite, Riskmaster, LMS, JSSO, SAP, Ventyx, Mobile Map, ESRI/Utilisphere, Service Line Data Sheets (SLDS), and ROARS.
  • Solid problem‑solving skills and strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • Minimum of 5 years of gas operations work experience (preferred).
  • Experience in training both in person and virtually, and skilled writing ability for training program development.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or business required (related experience may be substituted for education).
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to operate PNG company vehicles; commercial driver’s license desirable. Background in safety or emergency services desirable.
Working Conditions and Physical Demands

The position requires approximately 25–50% travel to PNG work sites, including travel beyond Pittsburgh. Duties may involve moving objects up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, or 10 pounds constantly. Physical demands include sight, hearing, and manual dexterity, and the ability to operate office equipment and, when required, heavy equipment.
