Job summary

EXP is seeking an Intermediate Pipeline Engineer in Houston to join the Pipeline Engineering team within Energy Services. The role involves designing oil and gas pipelines and facilities, performing hydraulic calculations, and coordinating with staff to deliver drawings and analyses for projects across renewable, natural gas, and oil sectors.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience with pipelines and related facilities, strong CAD/GIS skills, and the ability to travel for field work.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience with natural gas or liquid pipeline operators or engineering consultants.
  • Experience with pipelines and pipeline facilities (valves, traps, meters) and coordination with ROW environmental, survey teams.
  • Actual design experience: design calculations, reviewing specifications and code, overseeing drawings, reviewing and approving them.
  • E.I.T. or P.E. preferred but not mandatory.
  • 5–10 years of experience in relevant field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform engineering design work for pipelines and related facilities.
  • Conduct hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, and route studies.
  • Prepare alignment sheets, HDD designs, ROW layout, and workspace planning.
  • Coordinate with CAD designers and GIS mappers to finalize deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 quality requirements and project procedures.
  • Travel to field sites for reconnaissance, surveys, and truthing as projects dictate.
