Job summary

Mercury Systems in Phoenix is seeking an Intermediate Material Handler to ensure the efficient movement of materials in our manufacturing facility supporting aerospace and defense programs.

You will perform stockroom duties, kitting, cycle counts, and ERP data entry, while complying with ITAR, AS9100, and safety standards. This role offers opportunities to contribute to lean initiatives and collaborate across planning, procurement, and production teams.

Qualifications

  • 2-3+ years in material handling, inventory control, or stockroom operations.
  • Experience with ERP systems and inventory management tools.
  • Experience in kitting, BOM interpretation, and production support workflows.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Manage receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming materials per quality standards.
  • Execute kitting activities, ensuring accuracy and timely release to production.
  • Perform cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation processes.
  • Collaborate with planning and procurement teams to resolve discrepancies and prevent shortages.
  • Monitor material movement between stockroom, production, and shipping areas, ensuring safe handling.
  • Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners.
  • Maintain inventory records within ERP systems (Oracle, SAP), ensuring data integrity.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on lean practices, inventory optimization, and efficiency.
  • Work with other material handlers, promoting best practices and adherence to Mercury's standards.
  • Ensure strict compliance with ITAR, AS9100, ESD protocols, and Mercury's safety and quality procedures.

As an IntermediateMaterial Handler, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and compliant movement of materials throughout our Phoenix manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for working in stockroom operations, to include kitting, material returns, maintaining inventory accuracy, and working in shipping & receiving. Your expertise will directly support the production of high-reliability aerospace and defense technologies, helping Mercury meet critical delivery timelines and uphold the highest standards of quality and security.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage the receipt, inspection, and documentation of incoming materials in accordance with quality and regulatory standards
  • Will be assigned to execution of kitting activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely release to production
  • Perform cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation processes
  • Collaborate with planning and procurement teams to resolve discrepancies and prevent shortages
  • Monitor material movement between stockroom, production, and shipping areas, ensuring safe and efficient handling
  • Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP), ensuring data integrity and traceability
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on lean practices, inventory optimization, and operational efficiency
  • Work with other material handlers, promoting best practices and adherence to Mercury's standards
  • Ensure strict compliance with ITAR, AS9100, ESD protocols, and Mercury's safety and quality procedures
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Typically requires 2-3+ years of relevant experience in material handling, inventory control, or stockroom operations.
  • Experience in ERP systems and inventory management tools.
  • Experience kitting, BOM interpretation, and production support workflows.
  • Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing
  • Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality systems
  • Knowledge of ESD-safe handling and hazardous material protocols
  • Prior experience supporting DoD contracts or government-regulated production environments
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
