Job summary

Kwaan Bear Technology seeks an Intermediate Linux Systems Administrator to install, configure, and maintain Linux environments across ARLEN and CARLEN networks, ensuring security, performance, and compliance in a DoD–compliant, secure IT infrastructure at Aberdeen Proving Grounds.

Responsibilities include system monitoring, patching, AD policy enforcement, backups, scripting with PowerShell, and STIG implementation; requires Top Secret or Secret clearance and a bachelor’s or associate degree

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in systems administration across Linux platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree OR Associate’s degree with an additional 2 years of experience.
• CompTIA Security+ CE or CompTIA Server+ CE.
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), MCSA, MAC OS, or MCP.
• Must meet DoD 8750 and 8140 compliance requirements.

• Perform system software installations and upgrades, adhering to IT policies and schedules.
• Monitor and tune systems for optimal performance.
• Implement and manage backup and recovery processes for data/media recoverability.
• Conduct hardware/software audits for compliance with standards and policies.
• Maintain accurate configuration databases and supporting documentation.
• Support system patching, media management, and offsite storage solutions.
• Manage Active Directory and policy enforcement across platforms.
• Automate system tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell.
• Deploy updates and monitor system health in collaboration with IT teams.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and STIG implementations.
