Innovate!, Inc is seeking self-starting individuals with a “let me at it” attitude who can adapt to a fluid work environment and an occasionally demanding schedule and is highly motivated to join a geospatial solutions team as an Intermediate Level GIS Analyst to provide geospatial data management support. The candidate must be self-motivated with exceptional planning, critical thinking, analytical and communication skills who thrives in a team environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide intermediate level Geographic Information Systems (GIS) analysis and support in accordance with the contract requirements.
• Conduct geospatial analysis and modeling at multiple spatial scales for natural resource management applications.
• Work closely with the Forest Service or other public land management agencies to support critical decision-making processes.
• Develop custom scripts for modeling in ArcGIS and other relevant software platforms.
• Assist in making appropriate analysis and use of data for natural resource management.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure project objectives are met within established timelines.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Forestry, Ecology, Wildlife Biology, Soils, Geology, Hydrology, Geography, Earth Science, or related natural resource/science degree. Master’s degree in GIS or with GIS emphasis is highly desired.
• Three (3) years of extensive and progressive experience in a field requiring extensive use of GIS and related tools.
• Advanced knowledge of ESRI GIS products including ArcGIS dashboard, ArcGIS desktop, ArcSDE for Oracle, ArcGIS Pro, AGOL and associated extensions, ArcGIS Server, Collector, Navigator and Explorer for ArcGIS, PL/SQL Developer, and Microsoft Access databases.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as R, Python, Java, SQL, etc.
• Experience working with the Forest Service or other public land management agencies.
• Ability to work within the ArcGIS Online environment.
• Experience in writing custom scripts for modeling in ArcGIS.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct geospatial analysis and modeling.
• Familiarity with geospatial statistics, especially as they pertain to natural resource management.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with the California Wildlife Fire and Forest Resilience Task Force.
• Familiarity with decision support tools like Planscape.
• Expertise in USDA Forest Service 2012 planning rule, broader-scale monitoring strategy for USFS region 5, Forest Land Management Plan monitoring programs, and Collaborative Forest Landscape Restoration Program monitoring.
