An Intermediate Interior Designer is required for a full-time role with an architecture and interior design practice in San Francisco. This position is suited to a creative, technically strong designer with experience across workplace, commercial interiors and tenant improvement projects.
The Intermediate Interior Designer will take ownership of design development, client presentations, space planning, finish and furniture selection, Revit documentation and construction administration support. This is a hands‑on role for someone who can balance design creativity with code compliance, technical accuracy and clear communication across clients, consultants, contractors and internal project teams.
$90,000 - $105,000 salary, based on relevant experience and qualifications

Co‑lead and deliver creative, code‑compliant interior design work across a range of commercial project types
Support programming, conceptual design, space planning and design development
Prepare and co‑lead in‑person and virtual client presentations
Communicate design ideas through sketches, 3D models and color renderings
Work directly with clients, product representatives, furniture dealers, fabricators, consultants and general contractors
Carry out field surveys and review existing interior spaces
Research, recommend and specify finishes, fixtures, furniture and materials
Produce design documentation and support construction documents, including reflected ceiling plans and lighting layouts
Incorporate audio/video, acoustics, power and data requirements into interior design solutions
Support construction administration, including site visits
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Interior Design, Architecture or a related discipline
5-8 years of experience in interior design and/or architectural project delivery
Experience focused on workplace, commercial interiors and tenant improvement projects
Strong design creativity, technical competence and understanding of interior architectural concepts
Knowledge of building systems, spatial relationships, workplace concepts, accessibility, and state and local building and fire codes
Experience across all phases of interior design or architectural project delivery
Advanced Autodesk Revit and Enscape skills
Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
Office 365, Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
Legal working status in the U.S. without current visa sponsorship requirement
Interior Design Certification
WELL and/or LEED Accreditation
Hands‑on sustainable design project experience, including LEED and/or WELL participation
Experience using Mural
Experience working in a Citrix environment
Hand sketching and conceptual drawing or modeling skills
Understanding of corporate commercial real estate objectives
