Intermediate Heavy Equipment Diesel Technician

Under supervision, the Class B Technician diagnoses, repairs, reconditions, overhauls, and maintains heavy equipment and components, reflecting Wagner’s team-oriented vision.

Pay rate: $30.00 - $34.04/hour (dependent on education & experience).

Essential Functions:
  • Prepare service reports and inspection/appraisal reports
  • Charge work accurately to work orders
  • Communicate effectively with team members
  • Maintain and repair equipment and components
  • Operate machinery and perform disassembly/assembly tasks
  • Order parts ensuring accuracy
  • Service and maintain company equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions
  • Stay updated on tooling and system developments
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
  • Perform maintenance on new and repaired equipment
  • Make repair recommendations and parts decisions
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Technical school graduation preferred
  • 3 years’ experience in heavy equipment or engine repair
  • 1-3 years administrative and customer service experience
Physical Demands & Competencies:
  • Physical activities including lifting up to 100 pounds
  • Data entry, communication, and reasoning skills
Work Environment:
  • Noise: Loud
  • Indoor and outdoor work
