Responsibilities:

1. Oversees the day-to-day health care delivery system of clients in the residences. Ensures client health needs are met.
2. Ensures nursing is following regulatory agencies to maintain ICF/ID certification of the facility by the Agency for Health Care Administration. Participates in Medicaid on-site audits and completes Plan of Corrective Actions (POC) for nursing as needed.
3. Works with the Interdisciplinary Team to ensure Active Treatment is incorporated in medical treatment and that all staff understand the importance of continuous Active Treatment.
4. Attains a thorough knowledge of each client in the facility, to include health and mental status, strengths, and weaknesses, likes and dislikes, and family/guardian circumstances.
5. Recruits, hires, trains, establishes clear expectations, and completes performance evaluations and corrective actions for direct reports.
6. Administers medications via all routes without error, unrestricted, to include controlled substances.
7. Oversees monitoring of Nurses administering medication for accuracy.
8. Works with the ICF Director to promote a team approach with nursing staff, QIDPS, Staffing Coordinator, Leads, and Direct Support Professionals.
9. Attends and participates in Meetings and Trainings.
10. Maintains appropriate certifications, licenses, and CEUs as necessary.
11. Ensures a safe environment in all settings to prevent injuries to staff and clients.
12. Oversees Quality Improvement systems to maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local standards.
13. Oversees Biohazard waste management.
14. Ensures nursing and direct care supplies are ordered and inventoried, including ordering additional supplies for hurricane season.
15. Oversees the storage of and administration of medications to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
16. Uses resources wisely. Ensures items under the nursing and direct care supply budget are within budgetary guidelines.
17. Ensures nurses are available and participate in client outings.
18. Oversees and participates in on-call duties to ensure 24-hour RN access to the facility.
19. Functions as liaison between the Medical Director and other physicians and facility staff.
20. Oversees resident admission and discharge procedures in accordance with policies and procedures.
21. Assists in the development and implementation of disaster plans and procedures, including in-service training, disaster drill training, and emergency health planning.
22. Updates and/or implements nursing forms as well as updates nursing policies and procedures.
23. Ensures implementation of the Communicable disease (Tuberculosis) policy.
24. Oversees provision of dietary, dental, and podiatry services.
25. Oversees Pharmacy activities, to include delivery of medications, and ensures accurate documentation from the pharmacy.
26. Provides nursing oversight of Adult Day Programs as needed. Schedules and ensures nursing coverage for the Day Program as needed.
27. Reports to work during inclement weather (hurricanes) to ensure clients' health needs are met and assists in emergency procedures.
28. Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Active and unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in Florida required.
2. Prior work in ICF/DD setting required.
3. Bachelor or Master of Science in Nursing preferred.
4. 5 years in management or supervisory position required; leadership role preferred.
5. Florida Driver’s License with no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
6. Able to work in the US and not require Visa Sponsorship from our company now or in the future.
7. Effectively communicate at all levels, write, and speak English using acceptable grammar, punctuation, and spelling, understand and follow multi-step written and verbal instructions.
8. Accurately complete nursing documentation.
9. Use electronic medical record system.
10. Review, interpret, and implement AHCA/Federal ICF/ID regulations.
11. Use functional math, analyze, and assess data, and determine appropriate actions.
12. Organize and prioritize workflow to meet deadlines.
13. Work independently without constant supervision and complete work tasks to completion.
14. Problem-solve and use good judgement when making decisions.
15. Conduct self in a professional and courteous manner.
16. Keep information confidential and refrain from gossip, set appropriate professional boundaries with all staff.
17. Proficiently use a computer.
18. Delegate work to maximize efficiency.
19. Develop staff for further growth opportunities in the company.
20. Mobilize resources to meet the business needs of any program.
