Responsibilities:
• Assists Director of Nursing (DON) in the oversight of the day-to-day health care delivery system to clients in the cluster. Oversees and ensures that required documentation, such as nursing assessments, monthly summaries, and quarterly reviews, are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensures Quality Assurance activities are completed, and results are submitted to the DON.
• Participates as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team. Attends meetings to provide input on the health and programmatic needs of clients.
• Ensures Policies and Procedures are followed.
• Completes monthly work schedules for the nurses to ensure adequate nursing coverage.
• Assists with arranging for and conducting in-service programs and maintaining in-service training records.
• Monitors client’s personal health and dietary habits. Investigate and report significant changes to DON and/or Dietician.
• Makes rounds with the physician and addresses newly written physician’s orders.
• Administer medications via all routes without error, unrestricted, to include controlled substances.
• Ensures a safe environment to prevent client and staff injuries.
• In coordination with the DON, ensures on-call coverage is maintained.
• Assists the DON with payroll duties as needed.
• Participates in the interviewing, hiring, and training of staff.
• Participates in the admission and discharge process for residents, including re-admission of clients from the hospital.
• Completes ordering of nursing and direct care supplies, within budgetary limits.
• Uses resources wisely.
• Ensures nursing staff follow proper infection control techniques and keep nursing station clean and orderly.
• ADON must report to work in all inclement weather and emergency situations.
• ADON will assist with all AHCA / regulatory oversight and inspections.
• ADON will remain up to date on all health status changes and all day-to-day changes.
• ADON may be asked to work the floor as scheduled coverage and/or cover any client medical appointments.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma and must be 18 years or older required.
• Minimum of an LPN or RN certification that is active and unrestricted in the state of Florida required.
• Prior work in ICF/DD setting required.
• 2 years in management or supervisory position preferred.
• Florida Driver’s License with no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
• Able to work in the US and not require Visa Sponsorship from our company now or in the future.
• Effectively communicate at all levels, verbal and written.
• Understand and follow up multiple steps written and verbal instructions in English without assistance and supervision.
• Accurately complete nursing documentation.
• Use Electronic Medical Record system.
• Review, interpret, and implement AHCA/Federal ICF/ID regulations.
• Use functional math, analyze, and assess data, and determine appropriate actions.
• Organize and prioritize workflow to meet deadlines.
• Work independently without constant supervision and complete work tasks to completion.
• Problem-solve and use good judgement in making critical decisions.
• Conduct self in a professional and courteous manner.
• Keep information confidential and refrain from gossip; set appropriate professional boundaries with all staff.
• Proficiently use a computer.
• Delegate work to maximize efficiency.
• Mobilize resources to meet the business needs of any program.
