Job summary

Software Placement Group, SPG, is seeking an Intermediate Architectural Design Professional in Manhattan, NY to lead and execute retail interiors projects for a branded environment. The role blends concept development with technical execution in a hybrid, full-time position.

You'll interface with clients, support the design director and coordinate with consultants, while contributing to test-fits, schematics, and millwork coordination. Salary ranges from $85K to $115K with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture.
• Minimum of 5 years continuous professional experience in Retail Interiors and architecture within a branded environment.
• Strong experience in concept design development for retail and branded environments.
• Retail store planning experience including sales area and BOH layouts.
• Experience with retail fixturing and custom millwork design and coordination.
• Proficiency in SketchUp, Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Ability to create photo-realistic renderings using Enscape and AI-driven software.

Responsibilities

• Interface with clients throughout the design phase.
• Assist the design director in overseeing the design team.
• Develop preliminary retail programs of requirements.
• Develop test-fits, schematic design planning, program analysis, and basic code analysis.
• Prepare and support design scope and budget documentation related to retail fixtures, millwork, and specialty elements.
• Coordinate design requirements with clients, consultants, and the project team.
• Organize, prepare, and attend design presentations.
• Select, present, and specify furniture, finishes, and accessories.
• Design and coordinate retail fixturing, including wall systems, gondolas, vitrines, POS, and specialty displays.
• Develop and coordinate custom millwork design, including detailing, specification, and fabrication intent.
• Assist in reviewing engineering documents, shop drawings, fixture drawings, and submittals to ensure compliance with design intent.
• Periodically visit project sites during construction.

The firm has an immediate need for an Intermediate Architectural Design Professional to lead and execute projects within its retail interiors division, blending creative concept development with technical precision for branded retail environments.

• Understanding of schematic design, design development, and contract documents
