About the Studio

Founded in 2015, Alex Pettas Architecture (APA) is an architecture and interiors studio based in West Adams, Los Angeles. We focus on creating modern and timeless work across residential, multi-family, restaurant, and workplace projects, including residences in Malibu, Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica, Laurel Canyon, and Dana Point.

Position Details

We have an immediate need for an Intermediate Architect who aligns with our design vision. We value innovative thinking, productivity, resourcefulness, and critical thinking skills. The role requires full-time in-office work; remote work is not offered.

Qualifications
  • 3-8 years of professional experience across all project phases
  • Degree in architecture; Master’s preferred
  • Strong design skills supporting the office aesthetic
  • Excellent visual and verbal communication; fluent in English
  • Proficient in Revit and Adobe Suite; Bluebeam and Lumion are a plus
  • Legal authorization to work permanently in the U.S. and current Los Angeles residency
  • Experience in construction administration and detailing (desirable)
  • Experience managing complex projects (desirable)
  • Experience with single-family residences, familiarity with Malibu or Hidden Hills codes is a plus
  • Ability to support project design, production, and coordination from start to finish
Responsibilities
  • Manage client presentation production
  • Coordinate with project team, consultants, contractors, and agencies
  • Create construction documents and details
  • Prepare permit sets and oversee approval processes
  • Assist in construction administration: respond to RFIs, review submittals, resolve field questions
  • Research and apply relevant codes (residential, commercial, ADA, FHA)
  • Maintain thorough meeting notes and meticulous records
Compensation & Benefits

We offer competitive pay, employer-paid healthcare, 401k, holidays, paid time off, sick leave, and support for ARE exams. In-office full-time work only; remote work is not available.
