As part of a small team, the candidate must take radical responsibility for their scope of work and showcase entrepreneurial initiative.

About You
  • Strong design experience to lead projects in conceptual and schematic phases.
  • Strong technical experience to carry projects from schematic phases through development of CD’s
  • Proven ability to manage complex architectural projects with overlapping deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Comfortable with a fast-paced workflow, organized, and adaptable as project needs evolve
  • Value clear communication and enjoy working collaboratively with teammates and consultants
  • Willingness to think outside the box and generate creative solutions within design, time, financial, or other constraints
  • Eager to learn, open to new tools and technologies, and committed to continuously expanding your skills
  • Desire to contribute positively to a team environment and a culture that is inclusive, fun, engaged, and curious
Qualifications
  • 3-6 years of architecture work experience
  • Experience carrying a project from full documentation through construction administration
  • Proficiency in Archicad and Rhino is preferred, but not required — a strong digital background and a willingness to learn software quickly is sufficient
  • Alignment with Space Craft’s mission to build walkable neighborhoods and sustainable buildings is essential
The Role

You will be apart of complex projects from early concept through full permit set delivery. You will guide project execution, coordinate with consultants, and oversee the development of clear, buildable construction documents. As part of a growing team, you will contribute to the growth of the entire team’s capabilities and collaborate closely with the broader development company.

  • Lead projects from schematic design through permit submission
  • Develop clear drawing sets and resolve technical challenges to ensure coordinated, code-compliant, and buildable documentation at every stage
  • Ensure construction documents are appropriately detailed, prepared for a smooth permit review process, and practically buildable
  • Coordinate closely with partners to translate design goals into well-integrated, technically-sound solutions
  • Maintain high standards of quality and consistency across all phases
Construction Administration
  • Review submittals and issue clarifications
  • Ensure the technical integrity of the drawings is upheld throughout the construction phase
Personal & Team Growth
  • Reserve time to connect with teammates, find mentors, and contribute ideas that improve our developments, our business, and our team. We want you to be in sync with the broader company and understand the big picture behind our development projects.
  • Read, learn, find inspiration, and participate in professional organizations outside of work. Do what you need to do to stay creative.
  • Travel occasionally to other Space Craft offices for in-person time with teammates
  • Gather for team offsites twice annually
  • Attend occasional events and conferences
Compensation
  • Competitive and commensurate with experience
