You will be joining the Department committed to a culture of teamwork and delivering excellent service to the citizens of Missouri. Division of Administrative Services Accounting Unit is a multi-faceted unit and provides growth and opportunities for development. Normal work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, however a flexible schedule may be available.
This position will be located at the Roberts Office Building 1706 E. Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO 65102.
The base salary offered for this position is up to $60,412.32 annually, commensurate with education and experience. If the selected candidate is eligible for a pay differential, such as retention pay, the total salary may exceed what is listed in this posting.
- This position is responsible for reconciling, analyzing, interpreting, and communicating accounting data.
- Develop, maintain, and distribute Cash Analysis reports; Overtime reports; Allocation/Expenditure reports.
- Complete and process the quarterly Medicaid Administrative Billing.
- Gather and communicate information for the Annual Consolidated Financial Report (ACFR & Leases).
- Liaison for gathering and communicating payroll corrections with Office of Administration (OA).
- Processing various monthly FX (adjusting entries) documents.
- Updating spreadsheets to track personal service expenditures.
- Reports and tasks must be completed timely and accurately.
- Serve as DMH's contact for SAM II Inventory Subsystem. Work with DMH facility staff and OA staff in order to address questions and issues as they arise. Assist facilities with inventory by requesting necessary jobs and reports from OA, and making corrections as needed.
- Develop and verify DMH's Cost Report view table on DMH's data warehouse. Work with ITSD staff to accurately complete view so facility staff can utilize when preparing Cost Reports.
- Monitor SAM II information on DMH's data warehouse for inaccurate or missing information. Work with ITSD staff when issues with data are discovered to ensure proper fixes are made so data is accurate.
- Work on assigned tasks related to the new State of Missouri Accounting System.
- Serve as backup for DMH Payroll & Financial Analysis Unit. Participate in cross-training to ensure all customer needs are being addressed in the event of absences of other staff in Accounting Unit.
- Provide ad hoc reports and queries on demand.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Equivalent to those typically gained by):
- Bachelor's degree; AND 2-4 years of relevant experience at the accountant level.
