PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
  1. Perform necessary calculations using shop math to fabricate and/or install complete or major assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  2. Fabricate, assemble, and install products such as side panels, headliners, service ledges, cornices, etc.
  3. Install galleys, lavatories, entertainment cabinets, and water systems.
  4. Assemble and install window assemblies, sliding window shades, window frames, etc.
  5. Cut, fit, and attach fabric, leather, Naugahyde, etc., to decorative panels using cement or other fasteners as required.
  6. Cut, fit, and install carpeting in aircraft.
  7. Install cabin and cockpit chairs.
  8. Perform functional checks on installed systems such as air, oxygen, water, etc.
  9. Set up and operate standard shop equipment.
  10. Determine work to be accomplished to complete assignments within established schedules and plan accordingly.
  11. Accurately log computerized labor data for time and attendance tracking.
  12. Assist other personnel on specific job assignments.
  13. Work safely in accordance with OSHA and company safety procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in basic carpentry or a related field.
  • Ability to work from blueprints, CATIA models, company standards, and work instructions.
  • Must possess the required tools.
  • Ability to use drills, belt, disc, and drum sanders, and other common hand tools and equipment.
  • Able to repeatedly enter and exit aircraft using stationary steps/stairs, transporting interior furnishings, and assisting other employees with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Physical and muscular dexterity to install carpets, headliners, window panels, PSUs, cabinet assemblies, couches, seats, tables, and related components.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must not be abnormally allergic to glue, resin, wood dust, and other by-products of interior furnishings.
