Job summary

Responsibilities

• Authorize and approve project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, and field design change requests.
• Communicate and provide clear direction to the project team, including subcontractors, vendors, owners, and architects.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite scheduling, engineering, material control and day-to-day direction of staff.
• Assist in developing and implementing project procedures and standards; ensure compliance with procedures.
• Enforce safety policies and oversee job safety meetings and proper use of safety equipment.
• Supervise salaried and crafts employees and subcontractors as required by the contract.
• Provide technical assistance, interpret drawings, and recommend construction methods and equipment.
• Ensure project is constructed per design, budget and schedule; interface with clients and officials.
• Must be willing to travel to project sites as required.

We are currently seeking an Interiors Superintendent for commercial construction in Atlanta, GA to join our family. The initial project assignment will be Emory Student Housing in Atlanta.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Authorize and/or approve project personnel transactions, purchase requisition, field design change requests, etc.
• Communicate and give clear direction and leadership to project team, including subcontractors, vendors, owners, architects, etc.
• Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions (scheduling, engineering, material control and may provide day-to-day direction of project administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, etc.
• Assist in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
• Ensure compliance with established procedures.
• Follow, implement and enforce safety policies, (i.e. job safety meetings, proper use of safety equipment, compliance by subs/suppliers.etc.)
• Supervise salaried employees as needed, craft employees and/or other contractors as required by the contract.
• Provide technical assistance, (i.e. interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc.) as required.
• Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, government officials, other contractors, etc.
• Must be willing to travel if required.
• Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers, suppliers, employees). Maintain relationship to ensure needs are met and problems/conflicts are resolved.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University and 4-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Related experience to the project or market served
