Job summary

Zoox is seeking a senior validation engineer to lead the test and validation efforts for interior seating and restraint systems on the robotaxi platform. You will define and execute a robust validation process from requirements through report approval, coordinating internal and supplier-led testing to ensure durability, reliability and safety targets are met.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of test or validation experience related to interior automotive trims, seats and restraints systems.
• Experience with failure and root cause analysis.
• Experience generating and managing DFMEAs.
• Experience with test standards and regulations listed in the posting (FMVSS, UN, ISO, SAE, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage test plans to validate mechanical, electrical, and environmental failure modes around interior trim, seating and restraints systems.
• Collaborate with design engineers to ensure requirements are clearly defined in the validation plan.
• Identify test assets, data acquisition systems, and sensors for high-quality data.
• Analyze test data and report results clearly.
• Support DFMEA activities to cover potential failure modes.
• Support root cause analysis during development and deployment.
• Design test fixtures as needed for testing.
• Manage validation schedule and critical path items.
