Job summary

Zoox is seeking a Senior / Staff Systems V&V Engineer to join the Platform Safety Assurance team within the SDMA group. You will apply rigorous verification to ensure fail-safe and fail-operational behaviors for a driverless robotaxi service at scale, shaping the compute-platform safety case and affecting fleet reliability.

Qualifications

• BS or higher in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering.
• 5+ years of specialized V&V experience in safety-critical systems.
• Proficient in Python for data analysis.
• Knowledge of probability and statistics and data-driven testing.

Responsibilities

• Review vehicle response strategies for fault conditions and safety.
• Develop and manage test planning and execution for safety and fail-operational responses.
• Design and direct system-level V&V campaigns and metrics for end-to-end safety.
• Collaborate with system safety, perception, firmware, vehicle controls, and planning teams to secure buy-in for new fault-condition processes.
• Analyze, track, and report complex test results to drive platform improvements and document V&V reports.
• Apply expertise to the compute-platform safety case and accelerate platform development for fail-safe behaviors.
