Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an Interior Lighting Design and Release Engineer to lead the development of ambient, functional, and decorative lighting for Client vehicles, spanning LED modules, light guides, controllers, and harness interfaces.

You will own vehicle-level lighting objectives, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, coordinate with suppliers and design studios, and drive integration across interiors from concept to launch.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Optical Engineering.
• 5-7+ years automotive engineering experience, interior lighting preferred.
• Knowledge of LED and OLED lighting technologies; optical validation experience.
• Strong understanding of component integration, GD&T, and system packaging.
• Proficiency with CAD and PLM tools (NX, CATIA, Teamcenter).

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier design activities and reviews to meet Client specs.
• Define, track, and deliver quality, cost, timing, and performance targets for interior lighting.
• Collaborate with advanced engineering and design studios to establish lighting architecture and integration.
• Act as regional engineering lead for all interior lighting components and systems.
• Create and maintain DFMEAs, boundary diagrams, and DVP&Rs.
• Ensure integration with ECUs and vehicle networks (LIN, CAN).
