Job summary

Mall of America seeks a Maintenance Technician to handle preventive maintenance, repairs and upkeep of the interior property. You will perform carpentry, painting, tiling, drywall, plumbing and related tasks to keep facilities in top condition.

The role requires reading maps/schematics, working at heights, and coordinating with contractors. Strong communication and basic computer skills are essential; typical shifts include evenings or weekends during peak seasons.

Qualifications

Graduate of a trade, technical, or vocational school with degree in building maintenance or related field, or equivalent, preferred.
3-5 years’ experience in building maintenance or construction.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to read and understand maps and schematics.
Able to tolerate work at height, 12-85 feet on ladder and in aerial lift.
Basic computer skills, understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and general maintenance, repairs and upkeep of the interior property.
Carry out carpentry, painting, tiling, drywall repairs, flooring and signage tasks.
Inspect property and document needs in work order system, update upon completion.
Perform plumbing repairs and fix leaks, toilets, sinks and drains.
Set up decor and events, including staging and furniture setup.
Operate aerial lifts for event lighting and banners; ensure site safety.
