Job summary

The DC Army National Guard is seeking an Interior Electrician to install and wire electrical hardware in offices, repair shops, hangars, and other buildings. You will read blueprints and wiring plans and ensure safe electrical work while upholding standards.

Training includes 10 weeks of Basic Training followed by 7 weeks of Advanced Individual Training (AIT). As you advance, you may train and supervise others and coordinate electrical layout, all while earning a regular paycheck during training.

Qualifications

• Must have interest in electricity, science, and math.
• Must be able to use hand tools.
• Must be willing to perform physical work.

Responsibilities

• Inspect power distribution systems, shorts in wires, and faulty equipment.
• Install and wire electrical hardware like transformers, junction boxes, service panels, electrical boxes, switches, and circuit breakers.
• Read blueprints and wiring plans; ensure safety of electrical work and systems.
