Job summary

North Atlantic Corp is seeking an interior door production team member to assemble doors and related products with precision, ensuring finished goods meet quality standards. You will work in a safe, efficient environment and follow our rigorous safety policies.

This role requires reading labels, coordinating materials, and using carpentry skills to fabricate components. You will support packaging, maintain a clean workspace, and contribute to continuous improvement and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Age of at least 18 years.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Strong English reading, writing, speaking proficiency.
  • Precise measurement with 1/16” accuracy.
  • Ability to interpret instructions and solve problems.
  • Willing to work overtime.
  • Experience in finish carpentry or wood product assembly.
  • Knowledge of general safety guidelines.
  • Team player.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Prioritize Safety: Carry out all tasks with a strong commitment to safety, following company policies to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Read and Interpret Labels: Use your product knowledge and reading skills to accurately interpret labels, guiding your assembly tasks.
  • Material Coordination: Efficiently gather and coordinate the necessary materials for production, using labels and trade skills to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Craft and Assemble: Skillfully fabricate and assemble materials to produce high-quality finished goods, following work labels and utilizing your trade skills.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor the quality of finished products throughout the day, applying your product knowledge to meet high standards and ensure order specifications are met.
  • Report and Record: Promptly report any damaged materials to the Interior Door shop supervisor, marking them accordingly for accurate inventory records.
  • Maintain a Clean Shop: Contribute to a clean and organized work environment by assisting with housekeeping tasks, such as sweeping, storing, and cleaning.
  • Assist with Packaging: Support the packaging and handling of finished goods when needed, ensuring they are ready for delivery.

Required Education & Experience
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Education:High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Strong Communication Skills: Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Precision Measuring: Skilled in using measuring devices like tape measures, with the ability to transfer precise measurements to production pieces with accuracy within 1/16”.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Capable of interpreting and following detailed, straightforward written or oral instructions, and resolving issues in standardized situations.
  • Flexibility: Willing and able to work overtime as needed.
  • Carpentry Experience: Previous experience in finish carpentry or assembling finished wood products for end users. Familiar with doors and door trim products. Experienced in using standard hand and power tools commonly found in the carpentry field (see list below).
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledgeable about general safety guidelines in the carpentry or construction field.
  • Team Player: Experienced in working effectively within a team environment.
Physical Demands
  • Clear Screening Requirements: Candidates must successfully pass a post-offer drug test, physical examination, and consent to a background check.
  • Physical Endurance/Active Movement: Be prepared to stand and walk for 8 hours a day on a concrete floor, performing repetitive tasks. Frequent stooping, reaching, and bending are required to gather materials and fabricate products.
  • Lifting Requirements: Capable of overhead lifting up to 20 lbs. independently and up to 40 lbs. with assistance.
  • Strength in Grasping: Able to lift and grasp up to 20 lbs. independently and up to 40 lbs. with assistance, handling woodworking or steel components.
  • Carrying Capacity: Comfortable carrying up to 30 lbs. independently and up to 60 lbs. with assistance.
  • Pushing/Pulling: Capable of pushing and pulling rolling carts of interior door products weighing up to 300 lbs. independently and up to 600 lbs. with assistance.
  • Visual Acuity: Must have strong near and far-sighted vision
  • Auditory Awareness: Must be able to hear and identify machinery sounds to ensure safe operation.
Work Environment
  • Shop warehouse building
  • Must be able to work in varied temperature hot or cold depending on the weather and how it effects the shop temperature
  • Extended workday (overtime) as needed
Required Tools/Clothing
  • Protective Footwear (impact resistant with reinforced toe, puncture resistant, and slip resistant)
  • Safety Glasses meeting ANSI Z87 requirements with side shields (provided by company)
  • Tape Measure
  • Shirt or sweatshirt. No hooded sweatshirts with strings, no offensive graphics.
  • Jeans, pants, no sweatpants
  • Shorts, knee length, no gym shorts
  • Long hair/beard must be tied up
  • Nails: for safety purpose, max length ¼” past the finger tip
