The Building People, an established federal contractor in Washington, DC, is seeking an experienced Interior Designer focusing on Office Furniture Systems and Project Management to support a federal client on on-site facilities design and furniture packaging.

Candidates should have at least five years of relevant interior design experience, proficiency with CAD, knowledge of major furniture lines, and the ability to obtain TOP SECRET clearance, with DHS suitability as a requirement; telework is

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of commercial interior space design experience for large facilities or renovations.
  • At least two years of project management experience in building construction.
  • Experience with systems furniture.
  • Familiarity with construction methods and terminology.
  • Understanding of space design, IT/electrical drops, AV, and related MEP considerations.
  • Experience with government estimates and scope documents.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned portfolio of interior design projects for federal clients.
  • Oversee space planning, furniture packages, and reconfiguration projects.
  • Coordinate with vendors and GSA, ensuring compliance and timely delivery.
  • Prepare scope documents and track budgets and schedules.
  • Ensure on-site project administration and facilities management.
