Job summary

Garver Engineering is seeking a talented Interior Designer to lead design efforts from concept through construction administration, collaborating with architects, engineers, consultants, and clients. The role requires strong design skills, project management, and knowledge of codes and accessibility standards.

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Interior Design, a state license or reciprocity, NCIDQ certification, and 5+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design from an accredited program.
• Current professional Interior Design license/registration in the state of practice or ability to obtain reciprocity.
• NCIDQ Certification.
• Minimum of 5+ years of professional interior design experience.
• Proficiency in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction methods and materials.
• Knowledge of ADA, accessibility standards, life safety, and applicable building codes.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design Leadership: Develop interior design concepts and solutions; prepare programming studies, space plans, design presentations, and finish concepts; lead FF&E selection and specification; produce renderings and presentations; develop design narratives.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare interior design construction documents; develop plans, elevations, sections, finish schedules, and specs; coordinate with architectural/engineering disciplines; review submittals.
• Project Management: Manage interior design scope, budget, and schedules; coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, contractors; participate in meetings; assist with construction administration and site observations.
• Team Development: Mentor junior designers; participate in quality control and design critiques; contribute to studio culture; stay informed of trends and best practices.
