BKV Group seeks a talented Interior Designer II with 3-7 years of multifamily housing, hospitality, or corporate/commercial project experience to join our team in Chicago. We value a well-rounded designer who thrives in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment and is Revit savvy with strong graphic skills.

Responsibilities include development of budgets, visioning, programming, space planning, finishes, FF&E, coordination, and construction documents under project leads.

Qualifications

  • 4-year BS or BA degree in Design from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
  • Preparing to take NCIDQ exam or have passed the NCIDQ exam.
  • 3-7 years related interior design experience.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and the public.
  • Proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Review project budget with Project Lead or Partner at start of project and align tasks to budget.
  • Develop Visioning/Branding package to establish aesthetic direction and design concepts.
  • Determine program requirements with client/project lead and address FF&E and functional needs.
  • Develop functional, innovative spaces that enhance occupant experience.
  • Develop finish/material selections and overall design palette.
  • Specify furniture, artwork, and accessories; assist owner with procurement.
  • Coordinate design intent with other disciplines.
  • Develop construction documents for bidding under supervision of project lead.
  • Create 3D renderings, elevations, and floor plans to communicate design to owner.
  • Maintain records and files on assigned projects.

Job description

BKV Group seeks a talented Interior Designer II with 3-7 years of multifamily housing, hospitality, or corporate/commercial project experience to join our team in Chicago! We are looking for a well-rounded creative and technical interior designer with experience in all aspects of design and documentation who thrives in a highly collaborative multi-disciplinary environment, has the ability to work on several projects simultaneously, is Revit savvy, and exhibits strong graphic skills. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Scope / Schedule/ Budget: Review project budget with Project Lead or Partner at start of project. Work with Project Lead to align tasks to be completed with available budget. Communicate scope and budget concerns with Project Lead and review budget status throughout the project.
  • Vision: Work with Project Lead to develop Visioning / Branding package for client to establish aesthetic direction and Interior Design Concepts for the project. Designer to communicate vision through use of imagery, renderings, and concept designs.
  • Programming: Meet with client/project lead to determine program requirements. Work with client/project lead to understand function, equipment, FF&E, and any other factors that will affect the planning of the project interiors.
  • Space Planning: Work with Project Lead to determine scope of plan development. Use program knowledge to develop functional, innovative environment that will enhance the experience for the occupant.
  • Finish and Materials: Works with project lead to develop appropriate finish and material selections and implements an overall design palette that support the aesthetic goals, budget, and functionality of the project.
  • Furniture/Artwork/FF&E: Specify appropriate furniture, artwork, and accessories. Assist owner in procurement of furniture as required.
  • Coordination: Responsible for communicating design intent of project interiors with other disciplines.
  • Construction Documents: Develop construction documents for bidding under the supervision of the project lead. Coordinate with other disciplines for quality assurance, technical accuracy, and completeness. Coordinate with project lead to finalize scope of Interiors Construction documents.
  • Presentation materials: Develop 3D renderings, rendered elevations and floor plans to communicate design to owner. Review presentation materials with project lead prior to submitting to owner.
  • Maintain appropriate records and files on assigned projects.

Compensation range: $75,000 – $85,000 annually, or commensurate with experience.
