Job summary

North Dallas architecture firm is seeking an experienced interior design professional to lead space planning, programming, and documentation through construction administration. You will grow the in-house interiors capabilities while collaborating with leadership, clients, architects, and consultants.

The role emphasizes independent work and deep interior architecture knowledge. Ideal candidates will understand ADA and code requirements and contribute beyond finishes, FF&E, and aesthetics,

Qualifications

• Experience with interior architecture and space planning across multiple project types.
• Strong understanding of building systems and coordination with teams.
• Working knowledge of ADA requirements, accessibility standards, and codes.
• Experience with technical documentation, detailing, and construction drawings.
• Ability to work independently and contribute across project phases.
• Comfortable serving as the firm’s primary interiors resource and taking ownership.

Job description

Join a North Dallas architecture firm with 14 years of experience across civic, public safety, healthcare, education, and commercial projects. The team is seeking an interior design professional with strong interior architecture skills to work across the full project lifecycle, from space planning and programming through documentation and construction administration. This role will help establish and grow the firm’s in-house interiors capabilities, with direct exposure to leadership, clients, architects, and consultants. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, understands interior architecture, ADA and code requirements, and can contribute beyond finishes, FF&E, and aesthetic selections.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead interior space planning, programming, and layout development across a range of project types.
• Develop interior architectural concepts and integrate them into the overall building design.
• Prepare interior construction documents, detailing, and technical drawings.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, clients, and contractors throughout project delivery.
• Support projects through construction administration and maintain interior design intent and functionality.

Skills & Experience

• Experience with commercial, civic, healthcare, education, or municipal interiors.
• Strong understanding of interior architecture, building systems, and project coordination.
• Working knowledge of ADA requirements, accessibility standards, and building codes.
• Experience with technical documentation, interior detailing, and construction drawings.
• Ability to work independently and contribute across multiple phases of a project.
• Comfortable taking ownership of interiors work and serving as the firm’s primary interiors resource.
