Job summary

Gresham Smith is seeking an Interior Designer specialized in aviation projects to join our design studio. You will assess client needs, develop design direction, and produce plans and renderings for airport interiors from schematic design through construction documents.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture, 8+ years of experience, and proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Photoshop. Aviation/terminal experience is highly preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design/Architecture from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 8 years of design experience.
  • Aviation/airport/terminal design experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Photoshop.

Responsibilities

  • Assess client and project needs, evaluate and document design direction.
  • Play a key role in small to medium-sized projects.
  • Collaborate and support interior design assignments with other architects and design staff.
  • Compile data, perform design computations, and prepare plans and renderings.
  • Maintain library, create finish boards, order samples, and develop furniture specifications.
  • Assist in project finish and color selection, interior spatial design, and documentation.
  • Compile construction documents such as material and furniture specifications, millwork, and detailing.
  • Coordinate drawings with other disciplines and assist with space planning.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess client and project needs, evaluate and document design direction, and focus on the entirety of the experience that creates inspiring spaces.
  • Play a key role in small to medium-sized projects.
  • Collaborate and support interior design assignments with other architects, interiors, and other personnel within our design studio.
  • Compile data, perform design computations, and prepare plans and renderings.
  • Maintain library, create finish boards, order samples, develop furniture specifications and furniture specification books, create final project finish record books, meet with sales representatives, and create renderings.
  • Assist in project finish and color selection, interior spatial design, and document coordination from schematic design through construction documents.
  • Compile construction documents such as material specifications, furniture specifications, millwork, and interior detailing.
  • Coordinate drawings with other disciplines. Assist with internal furniture and space planning.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design/Architecture from an accredited university; NCIDQ Certificate is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of job-related design experience is required.
  • Previous experience in aviation/airport/landside/terminal design, preferably within an architectural firm, is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience using Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Photoshop software.
