Job summary

Baskervill in Orlando is seeking an experienced Interior Designer/Architect to join the Workplace Studio. You will lead design teams, mentor staff, and collaborate across disciplines to translate ideas into clear design directions for diverse workplace projects.

The role requires strong Revit and Office skills, licensure or progress toward it, and a collaborative, client-centered approach. Occasional travel may be necessary as projects vary by client.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in interior design or architecture.
• Professional licensure or working towards licensure.

Responsibilities

• Lead and collaborate with team members and manage all phases of design and production work for the Workplace team.
• Guide and mentor staff in the review of technical and code matters.
• Engage on diverse projects ranging from small to large.
• Work closely with the team and its consultants to develop cohesive design solutions.
• Participate in client presentations, design meetings, and project discussions, helping translate ideas into clear design direction.
• Perform quality control reviews of drawings, documentation, and project deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with design intent and project standards.
• Participate in site visits, construction administration and review of submittals and finish samples.
• Communicate effectively with fellow team members and consultants across offices.
• Maintain a strong understanding of workplace trends, materials, products, technology, and emerging design strategies.
• Creatively and eloquently present design concepts and ideas.
• Bring a hands-on, collaborative approach—working alongside the team rather than simply managing from the sidelines

About you:

A great match for our team is someone who has:

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in interior design or architecture,
• 8-10+ years of interior design or architecture experience, ideally experience in workplace project types
• Proficiency in Revit and Microsoft Office required
• Professional licensure or working towards licensure
• Knowledge of building codes and standards
• An exceptionally positive and collaborative attitude with strong interpersonal skills
• Experience leading, managing and mentoring multiple projects simultaneously
• Willingness to occasionally travel, as there may be limited travel required.
• Excellent communication skills, fostering a culture of mentorship and apprenticeship within the team
• Working knowledge and understands the implications of how the design of a project affects BOMA or other square footage calculations
