Job summary

The Building People is seeking an Interior Designer to support workplace design, furniture planning, renovation design, and space optimization across office environments. The role involves planning spaces, specifying furniture, and coordinating with architects and engineers on projects.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Interior Design with 5+ years of experience and strong proficiency in Archibus, AutoCAD, and CAP Studio.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar full-time position.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Archibus, AutoCAD, and CAP Studio.
  • Experience with Archibus and CAP Studio.
  • Strong knowledge of furniture systems and workplace design standards.
  • Experience preparing construction and renovation design drawings.
  • Knowledge of ADA, ABA, NFPA, AIA, ANSI, and GSA standards.
  • Portfolio demonstrating space planning and interior design projects.
  • Salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, qualifications, and certifications.
  • Background screening and Government clearance may be required.
  • Telework arrangements are subject to change based on customer requirements.

  • Prepare design intent drawings and space plans.
  • Create furniture specifications and support furniture procurement activities.
  • Coordinate renovation and alteration projects.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building, accessibility, life safety, and workplace standards.
  • Develop finish plans, furniture plans, occupancy plans, and related documentation.
  • Support client consultations regarding workplace design and utilization.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.

Job description

The Interior Designer provides workplace design, furniture planning, renovation design, and space optimization services. The role supports office planning, furniture specification development, construction and renovation projects, and workplace modernization efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop interior space plans and furniture layouts.
  • Design office spaces, conference rooms, collaboration areas, and support spaces.
