The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture and 2+ years in a commercial furniture environment, with AutoCAD and CET experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
  • 2+ years of commercial furniture dealer and/or CET experience required.
  • Experience in a client-facing, project-based environment.
  • Proficiency in design and documentation tools such as AutoCAD or CET.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with sales and project teams to understand client needs, workplace strategy, and project scope.
  • Attend client meetings, planning sessions, and site walks.
  • Review architectural plans, conduct field measurements, and assess site conditions.
  • Develop and present space plans, furniture layouts, and finish concepts.
  • Create and manage accurate drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with architects, general contractors, IT and electrical vendors.
  • Support order entry and installation by delivering complete, approved documentation.
  • Review final installations and produce as-built drawings.
  • Manage time and project scope to support accurate billing and delivery.
  • Stay current on workplace trends, products, and design tools.

Chesapeake Search Partners is partnering with a full-service commercial office furniture and workplace design firm to find an Interior Designer to join their team. This role blends design, consulting, and client-facing collaboration, supporting sales and project teams in delivering highly functional, well-designed workplace environments.

This is a great opportunity for a designer who enjoys being involved in the full project lifecycle, from early planning and space concepts through installation and close-out, in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Responsibilities:
