Job description

Atelier Design is seeking a highly organized, detail‑oriented Studio Assistant to support the interior design and studio operations side of our architecture and interiors practice.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys design, organization, follow‑through, vendor communication, project coordination, and helping keep a busy creative studio moving. The position will support ordering, project organization, sample management, vendor follow‑up, client/project documentation, light marketing, and general studio administration.

The right person does not need to be a licensed designer, but should be polished, proactive, highly organized, and comfortable working in a design‑focused environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with ordering, tracking, and follow‑up for furniture, lighting, fabrics, rugs, wallpaper, accessories, and other interior design selections.

Communicate with vendors, showrooms, workrooms, receivers, installers, and other project partners to request quotes, check stock, confirm lead times, place orders, and track deliveries.

Help organize project materials, finish samples, fabric samples, client selections, proposals, invoices, purchasing records, and project folders.

Maintain order tracking spreadsheets and assist with project documentation.

Assist with scheduling deliveries, installations, site visits, vendor meetings, and client‑related tasks.

Help keep the studio organized, including samples, catalogs, project files, design materials, and vendor information.

Assist with light marketing tasks such as organizing project photos, drafting captions, preparing newsletter or social media content, updating product/source lists, and supporting website or portfolio organization.

Assist with basic project organization and drawing coordination. Familiarity with Revit is a plus, particularly for helping with drawing organization, schedules, simple updates, and coordination tasks.

Run occasional errands related to samples, vendors, project materials, and studio needs.

Provide general administrative and studio support to the principal designer/architect.

Qualifications

Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.

Comfortable with spreadsheets, email, online ordering, digital file organization, and tracking many moving pieces at once.

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to follow up consistently with vendors, installers, and project partners.

Interest in interior design, architecture, furnishings, textiles, materials, or creative business operations.

Professional, reliable, discreet, proactive, and willing to learn.

Experience in interior design, architecture, procurement, retail/design sales, project coordination, marketing, or administrative support is a plus.

Familiarity with Revit is preferred but not required.

Familiarity with Canva, Instagram, Pinterest, Mailchimp, Google Workspace, Excel/Sheets, Studio Designer, DesignFiles, or similar tools is helpful.

Schedule & Compensation

Part‑time to start, with the possibility of growing into a larger role.

Some in‑person work required in the New Orleans area.

Immediate start preferred.
