Job summary

Arrowstreet, an award-winning firm in Boston, seeks an experienced Interior Designer to lead projects across multifamily, hospitality, institutional, and academic sectors. You will guide concepts through construction, coordinate with architecture and engineering teams, and mentor junior designers.

You bring 5–10 years of design experience, strong rendering skills, and a solid knowledge of furniture and finishes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
  • Knowledge of Building Codes and ADA requirements.
  • NCIDQ accreditation is preferred.
  • LEED accreditation is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead interior design projects from early concepts through construction administration.
  • Develop space plans, finish palettes, FF&E selections, and material specs.
  • Produce design presentations and coordination drawings with architecture and engineering teams.
  • Serve as primary contact for clients, consultants and vendors.
  • Coordinate with external consultants and internal teams across studios.
  • Manage internal project teams, mentor junior designers, review work quality.
  • Participate in construction administration, site visits, and field issue resolution.
  • Contribute to design culture through research and standards development.
  • Engage product reps and fabricators to introduce materials and fabrication strategies.

Position Summary

We are looking for an experienced Interior Designer who has worked in a variety of sectors; multifamily residential, adaptive use, hospitality, institutional, retail and academic environments. In this role, you will have opportunities to collaborate on projects across our diverse portfolio. You will be part of a team that develops innovative solutions for our clients’ needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead interior design projects from early concepts through construction administration, translating program, brand and business goals into cohesive design solutions
  • Develop space plans, test fits, finish palettes, FF&E selections and material specifications with a high level of technical and aesthetic rigor
  • Produce and oversee high-quality design presentation and documentation, including drawing sets, details, schedules and coordination with architectural and engineering teams
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, consultants and vendors, guiding design decisions and presenting work clearly and confidently
  • Coordinate with outside consultants and internal project team members across studios to ensure integrated and buildable design
  • Manage internal project teams, including mentoring junior designers and reviewing work for quality, consistency and accuracy
  • Participate in construction administration, including submittal and shop drawing review, site visits and resolution of design-related field issues
  • Contribute to design culture and practice development through research, precedent studies, standards and continuous improvement of workflows
  • Actively engage a network of product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricators to research, vet, and introduce innovative materials, furnishings, and fabrication strategies into project work
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture
  • Knowledge of Building Codes and ADA Requirements
  • NCIDQ accreditation, preferred
  • LEED accreditation, preferred.
Experience
  • 5-10 years’ interior design experience working across multiple sectors
  • Strong design and technical background
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Flexible and adaptable in handling multiple projects and deadlines
  • Proficient in Revit, Enscape, Bluebeam, Adobe Suite, MS Office, and other design software.
  • Good rendering skills
  • Deep knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specifications
  • Sustainability focused and knowledge in finish materials.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter and a team player
