Wendi Gee Interiors is seeking a talented, highly organized Interior Designer to join our boutique residential design firm in Austin.
We're looking for someone with a strong design eye, solid technical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a proactive, get-it-done attitude. Ideally, you have 1-4 years of experience with a residential interior design firm, but we're also open to an exceptional recent Interior Design graduate with strong technical and design skills.
You'll work directly with our Principal Designer and be involved in all phases of our residential projects—from sourcing furniture and materials to creating drawings and specifications, coordinating project details, and helping bring the final design to life.
This is a hands-on role in a small firm, so we're looking for someone who enjoys both the creative and execution sides of design.
We're especially interested in someone who enjoys improving processes and is curious about how technology and AI can make our work better and more efficient.
We're a small firm, and everyone wears multiple hats. Some days involve sourcing beautiful materials, client meetings, and styling installations. Others involve specifications, spreadsheets, pricing, vendor follow-up, and sample pickups.
We value collaboration, but we also value focused, independent work. We're looking for someone who can take ownership, solve problems, and keep things moving without constant direction.
Great design matters to us. So does exceptional execution.
Our office is located in Austin, TX, and this position will be primarily office-based while you're learning our projects, clients, systems, and way of working.
Once established in the role, there may be an opportunity to work remotely 1-2 days per week, depending on your schedule, responsibilities, performance, and the needs of the firm. The amount of remote flexibility may vary based on whether you're working a 30-hour or 40-hour schedule.
Because interior design can't always happen behind a computer, you'll also need to be available for client meetings, job-site visits, showroom appointments, sample pickups, and installations as needed.
Reliable personal transportation and comfort traveling throughout Greater Austin and the surrounding Hill Country are required.
We're looking for approximately 30-40 hours per week and are open to both a traditional full-time schedule and the right candidate seeking a consistent 30-35 hour work week.
Compensation: $48,000-$60,000 annually for a 40-hour schedule, depending on experience and qualifications. Compensation will be adjusted proportionally for a reduced-hour schedule.
If you're a talented designer with a great eye who also loves organization, details, and making things happen, we'd love to hear from you.
Candidates advancing in the hiring process may be invited to complete a brief hands-on exercise reflecting the types of tasks involved in the role.
