Job summary

Texas Tech University’s Department of Design seeks a full-time, 9-month Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice to begin September 1, 2027. This position is non-tenure track and focuses on teaching, mentoring, and industry collaboration within the interior design program of CHHS.

The candidate will contribute to innovative curriculum, engage in service and professional engagement, and help cultivate an internationally connected design studio environment on the TTU campus in Lubbock, TX.

Qualifications

• Required qualifications include earned MS, MA, MFA, M.Arch or PhD by appointment time in Interior Design or a related field.
• Preferred qualifications include experience in interior design professional practice, NCIDQ certification or eligibility, teaching experience in higher education, and relevant certifications (e.g., WELL AP, NKBA, AAHID).
• Familiarity with industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
