Job summary

Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) seeks an Interior Communications SOVT Technical Writer in Suffolk, VA to develop and deliver NAVWAR-compliant SOVTs for shipboard and shoreside Interior Communication Systems. You will write, edit, and format manuals, instructions, and release notes per SPEG requirements and MIL-STD guidelines.

The role requires the ability to obtain Secret clearance, create test plans, and ensure accuracy and consistency across technical documents.

Qualifications

• Ability to write test plans, SOVTs effectively.
• Essential proofreading/editing skills including grammar.

Responsibilities

• Research, write, edit and proofread technical data for manuals, procedures and specifications.
• Ensure documentation meets government specs and quality standards.
• Assist in establishing style guidelines for texts and illustrations.
• Transform subject matter into clear information; create or revise installation and maintenance documents.
