Job summary

Farnsworth Group is seeking an Interior Associate II to join our team in Illinois. You will support interior design projects from concept through construction, collaborating with project teams to develop design solutions and prepare technical documentation.

You will coordinate with clients, consultants, and vendors, develop presentation materials, and contribute to construction documentation using Revit and AutoCAD. Leadership development and mentoring of junior staff are also included.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design from an accredited program.
• 3–5 years of interior design experience.
• Experience developing and maintaining client relationships.
• Working knowledge of programming, space planning, furniture specification, finish selections, and construction documentation.
• AutoCAD and Revit experience required.
• SketchUp experience desired.
• Strong verbal, written, organizational, and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple project assignments and deadlines.
• NCIDQ certification in progress or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and delivery of interior projects from programming to construction.
• Develop interior design solutions, finish selections, furniture layouts, and presentation materials.
• Coordinate selection of furniture, fabrics, equipment, color palettes, and lighting.
• Prepare and coordinate construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Provide design support and documentation from concept through completion including renderings and presentations.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors to support project goals and schedules.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations and develop client relationships.
• Assist with project administration, file management, quality reviews, and documentation.
• Perform construction administration activities including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site observations.
• Support and mentor Interior Associate I team members.

Job description

Farnsworth Group is seeking an Interior Associate II to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the design and delivery of interior design projects from concept through construction. You will collaborate with project teams to develop design solutions, prepare technical documentation, coordinate project deliverables, and communicate with clients, consultants, and vendors. This position provides the opportunity to build leadership skills while contributing to the successful execution of projects across a variety of market sectors.

What You'll Do:

• Assist in the design and delivery of interior aspects of projects, including programming, space planning, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, and construction administration.
• Develop interior design solutions, finish selections, material palettes, furniture layouts, and presentation materials.
• Participate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lighting.
• Prepare and coordinate construction documents using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Provide design support and documentation to communicate design ideas from concept through completion, including renderings, graphic presentations, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors to support project goals and schedules.
• Participate in client meetings and presentations while helping to develop and maintain client relationships.
• Assist with project administration, file management, quality reviews, and project documentation.
• Perform construction administration activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site observations.

Compensation to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as internal and external equity.

Illinois Pay Transparency $57,000 — $77,000 USD
