Job Summary:

Cucine Design NYC is seeking a talented and technically proficient Senior Interior Designer with a specialty in European kitchen design. The ideal candidate will bring both creativity and precision to the design of highly functional, visually refined spaces. You will be responsible for creating custom kitchen and bath layouts, producing construction documentation, selecting finishes and fixtures, and coordinating with clients, contractors, and consultants throughout all project phases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design of high-end kitchens and bathrooms, from conceptual development through construction documentation.
• Develop custom layouts, millwork designs, cabinetry details, and fixture plans based on space planning, ergonomics, and code compliance.
• Create detailed drawings including floor plans, elevations, sections, and shop drawings specific to kitchen and bath construction.
• Specify materials, appliances, plumbing fixtures, hardware, lighting, and finishes aligned with design objectives and client needs.
• Produce 3D renderings, mood boards, and sample presentations to convey design intent.
• Collaborate closely with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure the design is fully integrated and executable.
• Conduct site visits for measurement, construction observation, and punch lists.
• Maintain awareness of current trends, technologies, and code requirements related to kitchen and bath design (e.g., NKBA guidelines, ADA, plumbing code).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
• 3+ years of professional experience in kitchen and bath design or residential interiors.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or Chief Architect; experience with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and rendering software (e.g., Enscape, V-Ray) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of cabinetry systems, plumbing, appliance integration, ventilation, and lighting for kitchens and bathrooms.
• Knowledge of NKBA guidelines and local building/plumbing codes.
• Excellent design, technical drafting, and project coordination skills.
• Effective communication skills for working with clients, vendors, and trades.
• NKBA certification (CKBD) or working toward certification is preferred.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in custom residential or high-end multi-family projects.
• Familiarity with kitchen and bath software (e.g., 2020 Design, Fusion 360, Cabinet Vision).
• LEED, WELL, or sustainability-focused design experience is a plus.
