Job description

Mirra Homes is a growing Seattle-based home builder with a clear vision: to shape lasting communities where quality, integrity, and people come first.

As we continue to grow, we’re not only building beautiful homes; we’re building a team of passionate, talented people who care deeply about the work they do and the customers they serve.

Our reputation is rooted in integrity — the driving force behind every decision we make, from how we build to how we treat our partners, customers, and each other. We take pride in what we do and have fun doing it, knowing that excellence and enjoyment go hand in hand.

Follow our journey as we grow, innovate, and shape the communities of tomorrow.

About the Role

The Interior Architect is responsible for leading the interior design and documentation of every Mirra home—from initial concept through final selections, specifications, and construction documentation.

This highly collaborative role combines architectural drafting, project coordination, and interior design expertise to create homes that are cohesive, on-trend, buildable, and aligned with Mirra Homes' design vision.

This role is approximately 50% focused on developing interior architectural drawings and construction documentation using Revit and/or AutoCAD, 30% on project coordination and design management, and 20% on interior design, finish selections, and product development.

Working closely with Purchasing, Construction, leadership, and third-party design consultants, this position ensures design decisions are accurately translated into construction-ready documents while balancing creativity, functionality, constructability, and budget across multiple active projects.

  • Location: Bellevue, Washington
  • Work Setup: Full-time, 100% on-site, in-office daily. Candidates must be able to independently meet the daily commuting requirements. (Note: Remote/hybrid work and relocation assistance are not available for this role).

Architectural Documentation & Drafting

  • Develop, maintain, and revise detailed interior architectural drawings using Revit and/or AutoCAD, including interior elevations, cabinetry details, millwork, finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, and lighting layouts.
  • Prepare construction-ready drawing sets that accurately communicate design intent while supporting purchasing, permitting, and construction activities.
  • Review architectural plans and consultant drawings to identify conflicts, inconsistencies, and coordination opportunities before construction begins.
  • Incorporate field observations, frame walk feedback, and approved design changes to maintain drawing accuracy throughout construction.

Project Coordination & Design Management

  • Coordinate design deliverables across multiple active projects to support established schedules and construction milestones.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party architects to ensure design decisions are communicated and implemented effectively.
  • Participate in design review meetings, frame walks, and project coordination meetings to help resolve design-related questions and field issues.
  • Monitor project schedules and proactively communicate design milestones, outstanding items, and potential risks.

Interior Design & Product Development

  • Lead the development of interior design packages that reflect Mirra Homes' standards while balancing aesthetics, functionality, and cost.
  • Select and specify all interior finishes, including cabinetry, flooring, countertops, tile, plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware, and paint.
  • Translate design concepts into clear finish schedules and material specifications.
  • Develop marketing floorplans and presentation materials for sales and community presentation purposes.

Who We're Looking For

You are naturally curious, detail-oriented, and enjoy turning great ideas into buildable homes. You appreciate thoughtful design but also understand that exceptional homes require detailed documentation, careful coordination, and close collaboration. You communicate well, take ownership of your work, and enjoy solving problems before they become construction issues.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field (equivalent professional experience may be considered).
  • Experience: 4+ years of professional experience in residential interior architecture, architectural drafting, or a closely related field. Residential homebuilding experience is strongly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with Revit and/or AutoCAD, with a demonstrated ability to produce detailed residential construction documentation. (Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, or Adobe Creative Suite is a plus).
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of residential construction methods, building systems, space planning, and the relationship between design and constructability.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent organizational, project management, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to navigate active construction sites safely for frame walks and field observations, which may include uneven terrain and stairs.

Compensation

  • Base Salary Range: $100,000 – $150,000 annually + Bonus. This is the expected pay range, not a guaranteed salary. Actual compensation depends on qualifications and overall fit.
  • Health & Wellness: Medical, Vision, and Dental insurance.
  • Financial & Security: Life Insurance, Long-Term Care Insurance, Short-Term/Long-Term Disability, and a SIMPLE IRA with employee matching.
  • Additional Perks: Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Cellular/Data Plan reimbursement policy.

Mirra Homes is an equal opportunity employer and complies with all applicable federal, state, and local fair employment practices laws.
