Job summary

Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking an interim Youth Ministry Co-Lead at St. Cletus Parish in Missouri to work with the Youth Ministry Lead on core team meetings, youth group preparation, and communications within Archdiocese safety policies.

The role focuses on serving youth, supporting mass participation, and developing leadership opportunities for youth and parents. The assignment lasts three to six months and may extend if the full-time Director begins.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education, business, social services, and/or psychology desired.
• Experience planning and facilitating meetings with responsibility for youth or children.
• Proven experience handling and reporting sensitive matters confidentially.
• Proven conflict resolution skills with compassion and assertiveness.
• Proven listening (vs. lecturing) skills and knowledge of how youth learn/process information.
• Knowledgeable and articulate on generational differences.
• Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with a variety of audiences (youth, parents, teachers, parish staff, and community leaders).
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from pastor, internal and volunteer parish leaders (i.e., clergy, teachers, Principal, parish council, finance committee).
• Task driven, organized and ability to manage multiple projects without becoming visibly overwhelmed.
• Detail-oriented, especially related to forms and other paperwork required for events, retreats, etc.
• Knowledge of and experience with social media/communication and branding significance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and communicate Core Team meetings with agendas and action items.
• Model positive leadership in line with parish mission and values.
• Communicate safety concerns to the Pastor.
• Maintain trust with Core Team and youth through facilitation.
• Support Lead in fostering harmonious Lead/Co-Lead relationship.
• Complete delegated tasks by Lead to ensure collaboration with parents and community.
• Meet monthly with Pastor to report progress and address barriers.
