Job summary

Ports North seeks a strategic Vice President of Finance to lead treasury, balance sheet management, and risk across our California operations. You will shape financial strategy, liquidity, and risk posture in partnership with the CFO and executive leadership.

The role emphasizes ALM, hedging, budgeting, CECL implementation, and NII/NIM forecasting, with MBA/CPA preferred and 10+ years in banking or financial services. This is a senior leadership position in a regulated financial institution.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience within banking or financial services.
  • Deep expertise in Asset Liability Management (ALM), Treasury, liquidity management, budgeting, and hedging.
  • Strong understanding of CECL, balance sheet risk management, and financial forecasting.
  • MBA and/or CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead treasury, finance, and investment operations with responsibility for balance sheet management, liquidity, and interest rate risk.
  • Oversee asset-liability management (ALM), interest rate risk modeling, hedging strategies, and liquidity forecasting.
  • Drive budgeting, Net Interest Income (NII) and Net Interest Margin (NIM) forecasting, profitability modeling, and concentration risk management.
  • Lead CECL methodology, calculations, and reporting while supporting enterprise risk management initiatives.
  • Present financial strategies, risk assessments, and recommendations to executive leadership and board-level committees.
  • Develop finance policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide leadership to a high-performing finance team.

We are seeking a Vice President, Finance to lead critical finance and investment operations, driving liquidity, interest rate risk management, budgeting, hedging, and financial strategy for a growing financial institution.

What You'll Do
  • Lead treasury, finance, and investment operations with responsibility for balance sheet management, liquidity, and interest rate risk.
  • Oversee asset-liability management (ALM), interest rate risk modeling, hedging strategies, and liquidity forecasting.
  • Drive budgeting, Net Interest Income (NII) and Net Interest Margin (NIM) forecasting, profitability modeling, and concentration risk management.

What We're Looking For
  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience within banking, credit unions, or financial services.
  • Deep expertise in Asset Liability Management (ALM), Treasury, liquidity management, budgeting, and hedging.
  • Strong understanding of CECL, balance sheet risk management, and financial forecasting.
  • MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • Analytical, intellectually curious leader with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into executive-level insights.

Bonus: Prior credit union experience is a plus.
